Jason lives truly defined the Friday Mythology for me.....
He truly was an undead killer more powerful seemingly unstoppable....
And the showdown at the end with the cops Tommy and Megan.. magnificent!!

Part 6 and 7 displayed that Unstoppable feeling of Jason as Undead where Part 3 and Part 4 showed what a more experienced human Jason was. (RIP to Richard Brooker and for being the starter of the Hockey Mask!)OCT 31 1978 wrote:Fair Play wrote:I've always had a soft spot for Parts 4/5/6.

Part 8/9 didn't show that for me.
Part X was uniquely unstoppable.
Freddy Vs Jason was meh lol.

Agreed on part 6 and 7.
Part 8 timeline and Rennie hallucination thru me off with this movie completely.....
I love the look and some of the kills but it just doesn’t make sense compared to the other Paramount films.
A few changes to the script and story could have fixed the timeline and continuity issue..
She could have still been traumatized in the Lake By Jason but it should have been a full grown adult Jason after Part 6 chained up at the bottom of the lake not child Jason.....
Her hallucinations could still have centered around child Jason because of the story McCulloch told her about Jason pulling people down who can’t swim... if they had her repress seeing Adult Jason....but the version of child Jason should have been based on His look from the End of the Original Friday 13th.
And when she sees him again for the first time her memory should have come back.
The other thing they should have done with the ending if they where going to go with the toxic waste ending is made it more climactic the toxic waste she throws in his face should not have handicapped him as much it would have been better if he was more aggressively chasing them to the manhole exit... before the sewers flooded.... and when it does it shouldn’t have shown child Jason in his place.... he just should have been gone and the burned hockey mask all that was left.
I agree with you about 9,10 and FVJ........ J9 doesn’t give off an undead Jason vibe at all he seems very much alive......a living breathing malformed Evil Demon in a human body vibe.... but not undead for sure.

Again no offense to the Director but he tried WAY to hard and didn't try to keep that continuity because the clothing was wrong all over but it still looked good but keeping that Part 7 Design was beautiful!OCT 31 1978 wrote: Agreed on part 6 and 7.

Agreed! That scene would have made me scared but I wouldn't be Traumatized about it! Adult Jason was a full on Zombie for godsake that is most traumatizing to see a corpse like that at the bottom!OCT 31 1978 wrote: She could have still been traumatized in the Lake By Jason but it should have been a full grown adult Jason after Part 6 chained up at the bottom of the lake not child Jason.....

Yeah that explanation in the behind the scenes and stuff didn't make sense to me but I get it when he wants to keep the ending anonymous just in case the company wants a sequel or not but still that child moments and him turning into a child was just the worse ending in the franchise.

He had an appearance of a Zombie but to us he was that Demonic force of a killer which isn't bad but still....haha

Here is another way I Rank the films in the franchise....
Out of 1-4
3 is my favorite.
Out of 5-8
6 is my favorite
Out of 9, 10, FVJ and Remake.
9 is my favorite
But if I rank them all together it goes...
6,9,3,7,10, remake, 4,2,1,5,8, FVJ
Lol the Paramount purists have a field day with me.

Re: Favorite Friday the 13th Movie?
I didn't really watch all of Jason's movies. I just know that, in my opinion, Freddy vs Jason is ok and that Jason X kind of sucks. I was too young to remember about the rest of the movies, need to watch them again...

You got to watch all the films to get the whole picture of how/why Jason Vs Freddy wasn't that well lol.
Re: Favorite Friday the 13th Movie?
Part 6 & 3 are my personal favorites. 6 is just pure slocky fun, knows it, and doesn't give a poop. Part 3 because that's where the franchise really found it's identity. It's no accident that three characters from that movie found their way into the game. All in all, I love parts 3 through 7. 8 is kind of trash, but it's enjoyable trash I don't mind watching. Part 2 is okay, but I've always found it kind of slow, and more difficult to watch than a lot of the other movies in the franchise.
After New Line took over, that's when I started having issues with the series especially behind the scenes... Part 9 is the only film in the franchise I just don't enjoy on any level. I wont trash anyone for liking it, I have a soft spot for P5 since it was my introduction to the franchise as a wee lad and that film is also really derisive amongst the fanbase. I also like Freddy vs. Jason more than most. I did hate the introduction of the idea that Jason's suddenly afraid of water, but I enjoyed the movie otherwise. Not quite sure what the fanbase was expecting from that film. Jason X is... What it is. There's a reason there's a running joke in pop culture that shooting your characters into space symbolizes that you've officially run out of ideas.
It's weird, but I remember watching the remake in the theater and really enjoying it... Then I tried watching it again a few years later and... Realized it wasn't as good as I remembered it... I think I was just so excited to see another back to basics Friday movie where Jason wasn't in space or body swapping that it clouded my judgement and I didn't realize I'd seen this exact movie 8 times already, and they were all better. It was okay, but there was something off that's hard to put my finger on.

New Line Cinema declined with Part 9 (No offense to Adam Marcus) but I liked Part X (Jason X) it was goofy and unique but FvJ was way to motivated by money than what the Fans wanted (Aka Kane Vs Robert) and I personally like the remake it's only the 3/6 remakes of films that I enjoy watching in the Horror Community as an overall.
All these films had their great and iconic moments and then Part 8,Part 9, and FvJ just....just didn't make it for me.
Part 8 because of the numerous continuity issues.
Part 9 because if the body swapping/Voorhees Only Kills Voorhees/Necronomicon logic which further those inconsistencies.
Freddy Vs Jason just went with "Lol what's continuity!?" Like...we know after Part 9 he was literally in Hell but then FvJ had his "Corpse" on earth? Fear of water bs and then the Jason design like overall it could have been better with Kane who knew the Jason the best and also Freddy barely even got any kills which is bs in a Nightmare on ElmStreet film.
