Thoughts on the Remake Empty Thoughts on the Remake

Post by JasonF13 June 16th 2024, 3:02 am

I was wondering what people’s thoughts were on the 2009 reboot were, personally I really enjoyed it and I think it’s the best of the series.

I liked it for the most part. I liked the nods to movies in the original series. I liked the sleeping bag scene.

I thought the intro was a bit long and crass in parts. I thought the group that came after the intro was okay, even if they were college students instead of just another pack of teenagers.

The kills were brutal, but I did miss some of the stalk and kill aspect of some of the previous movies.

I'm not too sure about Jason holding someone hostage.

Oh, and all that weed that was around in the intro- how come the cartels weren't there making money?

It's alright. I saw someone call it a CW type movie and I have to agree

It's not horrible but not something I'd go out of my way to watch

I liked it. Nice amount of violence and nudity. I might rewatch it this summer. Smile

Yes, Jason was holding someone a hostage, I would cut that part out, but on the other hand it's not something that would ruin the rest of the movie for me.

All in all, a descent back to basics reboot that the series needed after the New Line movies. Honestly, it was what an F13 reboot probably should be. Respectful to the films that came before it, had a good balance of keeping with the lore of the franchise but not delving too deep into the lore to confuse newcomers to the series, and the tweaks they did make weren't aggressively distracting or offensive.

Personally, I loved the Remake, it's basically 3 Original films into one Remake.

I would have to rewatch it to answer your question properly. Last time I have seen it was a couple of years back.

It’s a fun movie but I do feel they tried to do too much in it. Only thing I would have asked them to do is slow down and pace the movie a bit better. It’s a good time but less is more you know?

I'm a guy who grew up hearing David Bowie say, " Too much is never enough", but I get your point.

Would you have wanted more character development?

I don’t know if character development is what I’d want. I think I would’ve liked it more if they would’ve done more than one movie. That’s probably what I would have enjoyed.

I sometimes wonder if there could have been a character who was driving a Volkswagen Beetle or maybe even a Jeep.

For the side characters or for Jason?
