What Company should make a Friday the 13th Film?
I'll be opening a poll as well to see where my fellow Friday the 13th Community would like to see having the license to make a Film for the series...
1st Pick: Blumhouse The company has been booming when it comes to the Horror Genre in the recent decade, especially with bringing back the Halloween Franchise with a set Halloween Trilogy and with the final entry being one of the most diverse in the franchise, overall I believe they did amazing with the cast and bringing back the OG Michael himself Nick Castle, and I did have my biggest doubt on who was in the mask but James Jude Courtney truly took me in with his performance! And I hope they do it if they get the rights, I would LOVE to play the character myself and do what I can to get it BUT I truly believe Kane Hodder or C.J. Graham should get that chance to reprise the role of Jason Voorhees! And I would say my highest pick for a 2nd chance at a director role is Tom Mcloughlin himself.
2nd Pick: Paramount Now! Now! Put down your pitchforks! This is the original home for the Franchise and let's be honest Part 1-4 and 6-7 was the highlights of the franchise and we can't deny that! I would still love to see what they have instore for us since they did cancel two seperate projects with unique ideas so yeah...they are my 2nd pick.
3rd Pick: A24 Now I am NOT at all quite knowledgeable about their movies other than Hereditary and I heard they made Tusk, Midsommar, X, and Pearl, but I haven't seen those films as of yet, but I will say that people praised them so I am quite curious to see how they will approach a franchise like Friday the 13th.
4th Pick/Final: Netflix I'll say it...With the money and revenue, I believe Netflix could do a proper Friday the 13th Film, with the only issue I am having is relating to the rating...I don't want a PG-13 Friday the 13th...I want a Mature 18+ film!
Honorable Mention 1 Sony Pictures: Not gonna get into too much but...I don't think Sony can handle a legitimate legacy rights like this and I feel they would limit the kills.
Honorable Mention 2 Universal Pictures: The Fathers of the Universal Monsters BUT I feel their recent Horror films have been lack luster in terms...I hate that I'm saying that but it's true, I don't want a Horror Comedy Friday the 13th Film.
Honorable Mention 3 Warner Bros: They are killing it in the Monsterverse Franchise right now but for their own IP? I don't think so...that's all I'll say!

Re: What Company should make a Friday the 13th Film?
Out of everything listed, BlumHouse, New Line, Netflix, and Shudder are the ones that make the most sense for better or worse. Paramount and Universal are more Distribution companies who'd probably need a good production company to partner with. (Think Universal's deal with Blumhouse ends this year) A24 is probably too highbrow for a Slasher Franchise.
Best case scenarios for me would be either Blumhouse partnered with a dedicated creative team, or New Line partnered with another production group in charge who'll treat the franchise with respect. I don't trust New Line, or more superficially Cunningham, to handle an F13 film themselves anymore.

Very understandable! But what about Netflix more or less? You think they would go to woke or go away with what makes a Friday film??

Honestly, I haven't watched enough original Netflix horror films to give a properly educated opinion. After watching Choose or Die, it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I never watched another Netflix Original again until their TCM sequel, which I did enjoy for what it was. Otherwise, I only know Netflix by reputation... Which concerns me, but isn't necessarily a dealbreaker either. I prefer to judge things for myself.

Very appropriate response! TCM is probably there best original based on a Live action IP license!

Yep, anything with the little N in the corner is a Netflix original. When other streaming services like Max, Peacock, Disney+, and Paramount+ started up, all four owned by companies with a major distribution label under their umbrella, they all took their original content and IP's with them, so Netflix had to start producing its own originals to compensate... Most of their content now revolves around its own original programming, or independent works they've licensed and place their logo over... (Like Squid Game) Like most studio's, Netflix Movies and Shows are petty mixed... They do produce some compelling documentaries though if you like that kind of thing. That's most of what I watch off of Netflix anyway.
