Michael shows up to Marion Wittington's house and breaks in getting Laurie's file.

Where was he at for 20 years?!?!?!?!

How did he survive? How did he know where Marion lived? I assume he followed her one day from work

but how did he survive for 20 years?

Remember this is skipping pt 3-6 Halloween

Honestly I can't even explain it unless it's an unrealistic method like....

Did he go to a homeless shelter?
Did he put down the mask and have a private life?
Did he hide out at his house the entire time?

There's alot to consider and well H20 was one of the worse takes for the series.

Imagine all the teenagers in Haddonfield going to the house and not seeing Michael hiding there. It's not like that had Uber Eats to deliver food.

But you're right. It doesn't make sense.

Seriously though, a very disappointing movie. The movie taking place at a school just DID NOT WORK. A very lame setting for this movie.

Also, t would have been good to know how he found Laurie/ Ms. Tate or whatever name she was using in California. Did Michael hitchhike from California? Maybe the preacher guy from part 4 gave him a ride.

I know. I still found it funny that Michael slipped by LL Cool J at the gate.

Halloween Resurrection kinda of explained that Michael was living in the tunnels under his house, eating rats and so forth, not that they ever intended to make a movie after H20. What I didn't get was why did it matter when his family members turned 17 before he came after them. The only thing I can figure is that he had a sixth sense that his sister was alive. But if he was coming simply because his nephew turned 17 would insinuate Josh Hartnet was his target, not Laurie, even though he found her by going through Loomis's files. The other thing I found odd was the old style truck he took at the rest stop. It just didn't match with the lady driving it and it stood out like a sore thumb. But I did enjoy seeing Janet Leigh in this movie with her daughter and she was driving thr same car from Psycho.

Yeah I never understood that part where it was at a school?? Like any other place could have been better.

There was something that always bothered about this film that I never could put my finger on until I was watching it a couple of years ago... When I noticed just how much influence Scream had on this movie. So much so that it feels more like one of those Scream clones that were popular at the time than a Halloween movie. It's just way too 90's, right down to the cast of teen stars from popular teen dramas to the cross-over pop culture star trying to break into acting. That's what always bugged me, and now I can't unsee it.

Oh lord that makes it even worse! 😭 any perspective where an known iconic franchise has to feel like a copycat like THAT is horrible, there's no way to break that away when watching the film.

Imagine watching a Scream movie but it's like "Halloween" it wouldn't feel the same personally.

Like the biggest issue with Halloween: H20 (aka Halloween: 20 Years Later) was the setting...

It felt like a "I know what you did last summer" and "Prom Night" had a baby, Michael didn't at all feel like the previous...the Masks used were just bad...like I only have like 6 GOOD Masks vs the 12 films they have put out and that's not good!

My Mask Ranks:

Halloween 1978
Halloween II
Halloween RZ
Halloween 2018
Halloween Kills
Halloween Ends

The fact the future Masks in the franchise after Halloween 2 isn't listed for my ranking says ALOT.

Halloween H20 isn't even in my top 10 list for the films.

Funny that people still ask this question in April 2024. Very Happy This was discussed to death a decade ago. If you follow that timeline, he was living under his house and eating rats.

Personally, I don't mind H20. There are better entries, for sure, H20 is just fine.

I never cared too much about H4 or H5. I'm able to watch them once upon a time, but if I should pick my favorite from that period, it would be H6. Now THAT is a true Halloween atmosphere.

I've seen alot of Halloween 6 fans so that makes sense!

I can relate to your mistake. Due to the recent surgery, I may need glasses. I saw just now the post I made about The Strangers Franchise was spelled The Strangers Franchiser.

I had it for Wendy Kaplan myself, with Elle Cornell a very close second.
