Why Is Nightmare 4 Not On HBO Max?

Is there a specific reason A Nightmare On Elm Street Part 4: The Dream Master isn’t on HBO Max with the other movies? I’m thinking possibly due to all the music they used in the movie. Licensing issues I’m thinking but does anyone know exactly why?

Very weird… most likely it has to do with New line leasing out the movie to one of the other streaming services or television outlets…. With an agreement not to stream it while they have paid for it to air somewhere else.

It’s reportedly on Amazon which could be why, I just saw it’s on Amazon just really strange it’s not with the rest of them on HBO Max though.

Its all due to who buys the license for what film.

Now Music Rights and Licenses are all very much complex as all hell to me lol.

Same here. I’m always like wouldn’t they have gotten signatures to take care of those rights? From what I’ve heard though, those contracts are only for vhs and not anything else. I’m sure sooner or later, there will be contracts for all evolving media but they probably never thought there would be a site or service where we could watch whatever we wanted.

signatures? Do you mean the written contracts between the music studio and the company that wants the music? In most cases, yes, but there are always fees and revenues when a company uses copyrighted music for their series.

Ty yes I was having a brainfart and couldn’t think of the word lol.

They’re about to all be off of HBO Max at the end of November. I’m sure they’ll be back on there sooner or later though.
