Ghostbusters, anyone else a fan?
Besides 80’s horror, Ghostbusters was my favorite movies when I was a kid. Always wanted one of those proton packs to run around with. Over the years, I ended up making one from plans off a web site. But now, with the upcoming release later this week of the new movie, Hasbro is giving every Ghostbusters fan their dream prop. Hasbro made a 1:1 scale of one of the packs in the movie. If interested, check it out on the HasLab page:

I love the original films, and I was a big fan of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon show when I was a kid. I also enjoyed the 2009 game especially with the knowledge that it was largely based on the script for what was supposed to be the Ghostbusters 3 film we never got.
Ghostbusters Afterlife is one of only a handful of movies to come out in the last couple of years I'm actually excited about seeing. Wanted to watch it in the theater, but that sadly can't happen now but I can wait. Yeah I'm a fan of the franchise. So much so, that for his birthday, I bought my son a replica of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man toy I had when I was a kid from the rerelease of the old Kenner toy line. He absolutely loved it.

My cousin and I (only separated in age by a couple years) had all the Ghostbusters toys growing up. We built make-shift proton packs and dressed in full Ghostbuster gear and helped out several times at the local church’s trunk or treats at Halloween over the years. We’re going to see the Afterlife movie this Friday. If only Harold Ramos and Bill Murray could have seen eye to eye and ended their disagreements years ago, we could have had a proper 3rd movie.
The video game was a blast, and I occasionally still play it since they offered the remastered version of it a couple years back. It was a no brainer about this Plasma Series Egon pack though. As soon as they announced it on the Hasbro site, my cousin and I jumped on it. Very solid pack for a Ghostbusters fan that doesn’t want to spend what current “DIY” pack kits are going for ($600-$800).

Here's the pack I made, mostly out of cardboard and other items I could find around the house and at work:

I was 11 years old when I saw the first Ghostbusters and was instantly hooked. I loved the Real Ghostbusters cartoon and actually had a few action figures. Still wish I had those. I was first in line for Ghostbusters 2 and loved it just as much. I play the Xbox 360 Ghostbusters game every soniften and it's one of my all time favorites. I've been waiting for Afterlife since it was supposed to have been released last year

Ghostbusters Afterlife was freaking amazing! I will be going back to watch it in theatres at least one more time. If you are a fan of the original movie, you will love this movie. Also, be prepared to shed a few tears.

I get teased sometimes because I like Ghostbusters II more than the original but it’s because I loved watching it in a theatre and it’s the one I remember the most.

I'm so glad I was able to back this thing. Pictures and video doesn't do it any justice. This thing is truly a masterpiece, Hasbro truly outdid themselves.
