New Friday movie coming soon?

I normally don't put too much faith in internet stories, but this one seems like it may have some traction behind it.

I hope Miller and Cunningham have come to or are close to coming to an agreement. If so, hopefully it will give companies such as NECA the opportunity to continue with F13 merchandise as well.

Definitely interested to see what this could be or mean…..

I am still pretty sure those two will never come to an understanding however…..I hope I am wrong….. but I am expecting this to not resemble Friday the 13th how we know it now.

I'll have to play the "wait and see" game. I'll believe it when I see it. And I'll be there with a huge bag of popcorn if there's something to see. Maybe all you guys can join me.

I'm not going to get my hopes up until we see solid proof that a film is actually in production. We've been burned a couple of times already by potential films that were in the planning stages only to get scraped for various reasons.

I hope I'm wrong, but I still get the impression that Cunningham is content to let the franchise rot if his company isn't receiving the lions share of the profits. Not even going to pretend I know what's going through Miller's mind right now either.

I wish!!!! and I do hope its a sequel not a reboot

I think it's high time that Miller and Cunningham grew up and just let the cash flow in to their bank accounts. Fans want movies, and they will go see them, so start filming!!!!!!!

I don’t think that Bio means shit….. this is the same guy who paid for a full page ad in Vanity fair calling Friday the 13th the most Terrifying movie ever made…. And at the time had no script…..

I highly doubt this! Because I am sure neither Sean and Victor have had any middle grounds.

Plus if it is by Cunningham then its likely no Pamela/Origins/No naming of Jason.

It's impossible...it would have to be like one of those fan made movies....and there would probably be lawsuits anyways.

The issue with the various rights should've never been allowed to reach this point. This limbo could potentially last another decade or two. No one will even care at that point.

Nothing may come of it, but now even New Line Cinema is discussing a new Friday movie slated for 2023.

Most likely they Have Distribution rights….Horror Inc owns the rights to Friday the 13th series and Victor Millers owns The script and assets and Characters from the Original Film.

First off, congrats on 500.
Secondly, with all the articles about a possible new Friday movie and New Line doing what they did, it looks as though us fans aren’t the only ones wanting Jason back on the big screen. Looks as though media and movie producers are ready for Jason to stalk the camp grounds again as well.

I agree 100% I think everyone who has a chance to make money on this project is trying to show Victor and Sean how much interest and relevance the character can still generate….Jason is the King of the Slasher film….

If only these two guys could meet in the middle and come to some type of agreement that would be mutually beneficial and Give us the Fans what we want…
These resurgences of popular Horror movies only lasts for so long before people feel like they have seen it all before again….. and the entire genre dips in popularity and attention this is the time to get the King of Slashers back on the big screen!!

Honestly dont want New Line Cinema behind the mantle of a Friday the 13th film, I would prefer Blumhouse infinitely.

Blumhouse would be the best choice in my opinion. They seem like they really want to make and market horror. NO WAY should New Line be anywhere near a Friday movie.

I’ve also heard with the success of their Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, Netflix is very interested in the next Friday The 13th as well.

I’m all for it as long as they do a good movie. I’d love to see something more along the lines of The Final Chapter. That’s the measuring stick with a lot of the fans it seems.

I want a soft “reboot” that doesn’t follow any one specific film and also doesn’t disregard any of the past sequels as well ….. this way it they can still say things like Jason has killed 100’s of people….. and been killed or thought to be killed several times in the past a true Friday the 13th part 13
