I think Jeff Katz had something to do with the Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash comics so you could technically take those as canon.

Eh, I think things start to get a little messy when you start to include things like Novels and Comics as Cannon. Unless the franchise creators come out and say, 'hey this totally cannon to Jason's backstory' I look at the books as what they are... Fun little side stories that take place in their own pocket universes outside the main time-line for the films... And nowadays even accepting all the films as cannon can be dubious. Just look at Halloween, which has literally erased large chunks of it's cannon twice, and now depending on which movie your watching, you have four differen't sets of cannon to potentially have to draw from. Messy, Messy, Messy.

Some of the novels are official the adaptations are Canon.
Some of the Black Flames were "Filler" for specific events within the series of the franchise and the Jason X Novels are the "Sequels" to Jason X.
Unless Horror Inc "Denounces" them as Canon and a new set of Novels which is officially set and also set as Fillers or sequels can only show in time.
For those wondering...
Halloween H20 and Hallowen: Resurrection retconned H2,H4-H6
Now its
Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills, and Halloween ends which is a direct and official sequel to the original.

Yeah none of the comic books published by Topps, DC Comics, and Avatar Press are no where near the canon level, they are all set in their own universes and their own timelines.
Re: Non Canon Friday the 13th comics
Alot of the depictions of Jason in the comics make him look ridiculous in terms of the situations they put him in. There was one that I found interesting though, I forget what it's called, but it's the one where he protects a kid that has a deformity just like him.

Re: Non Canon Friday the 13th comics
Whenever I hear that title, it reminds me of a Buffy novel they released. I think it was called How I Survived My Summer Vacation Volume 1. It took place after the season 1 finale.
There was one day where I wrote down as many Halloween movie storylines as I could remember and I think I got a few down. Kind of reminds me of the Multiverse in DC and in Marvel. Pretty cool.
For me, I feel like it’s up to whoever reads the novels, comics and watches media to decide if they’re canon for themselves. If it is it is for them. If not then it’s not. That’s how I feel about it.

That's usually how I like to see things. Anything that strays too far from what I think Jason would do, I consider non canon.

Sadly the new writers and directors dont care about such things sadly.

Agreed. They dont seem to like putting a lot of effort into the movies like the fans do it seems sometimes.

If we got real directors with legit love for the franchise it would be amazing.

Agreed. I love all the movies, but look at what happens when you get the best director and writer possible. You get Part IV and it becomes the favorite for a LOT of people, including me. Just takes effort and people trying to do their best job possible.
