Friday the 13th Black Flame Novels.

Friday the 13th Black Flame Novels.
I am trying to collect the Friday the 13th BlackFlame novels:
Church of the Devine Psychopath
Hell Lake
Hate Kill Repeat
Carnival of Maniacs
The Jason Strain
I have all the Jason X novels but the F13 ones are just insanely expensive.
If I were to buy them which one is the best one?
I hear Hate Kill Repeat is really good.
I just don’t want to buy a 100 dollar novel and regret it because of a poor story....
I would love any suggestions form anyone who has the novels and read them
thanks!

Wow! I been looking for the novels! I was just googling about them two days ago! I would also love to know where I can get them even if it's online!
Re: Friday the 13th Black Flame Novels.
Best place is EBay and Etsy but they are expensive.... over 100 apiece....
That’s why I wanted to pick up the best one first.
If anyone has read them I would love an honest fan review of each book and which one is your favorite and why?

Re: Friday the 13th Black Flame Novels.
I loved the novels that I was able to get. I was so bummed though when the Black Flame contract expired and we never got any more books. The Elm Street ones were good too.

Hopefully once the lawsuit ends we get more content for the film continuity as continuation because the Comic Books just don't make sense so I'm happy to take those as Non-Canon.

That would definitely make my day! I’d love to get more “in continuity” novels and comics. When we got the Black Flame novels, I was kind of hoping they’d do a follow up to the original movie which would say Jason did more stuff between the original movie and Pt 2. I think Paul said in Pt 2 that it was five years between the prologue and when they started the new Camp Packinack training center so I’d love to see if Jason did run into more people in those five years. I can’t imagine he was just dormant then.

oooh you would want a prequel than a sequel to the films.
I know the novels do take places from when/where Jason was between films.

Hope you can find some of the more inexpensive ones. I miss the books being written and published. I loved going to Barnes and Noble and finding them. I was always kind of bummed I couldn’t get the young adult novels for A Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday The 13th books. I remember them being sold at Waldenbooks but they either were all sold out or out of my price range. Being too young to have money back then those books weren’t available. The local library here had the Halloween young adult novels and I got some of those at the library but they didn’t have the Freddy and Jason ones.

Re: Friday the 13th Black Flame Novels.
I was lucky enough I think Fangoria Magazine had mentioned there were gonna be those novels for the series from Black Flame. So i knew in advance and I also have had friends who worked at Barnes and Noble over the years. So they let me know when I asked them about the books and other merchandise coming out.

Re: Friday the 13th Black Flame Novels.
I bought all of them in the early 2000´s when they were originally released for under 10 $ each. The prices they are going for now is insane. That is quite an investment I have here. Church of the divine Psychpath & Hate-Kill-Repeat are the best, followed closely by Carnival of Maniacs. Carniva of Maniacs was written by the same guy who did the FvsJ novelization and it is full of references to the movies and filled with nostalgia. All 3 of those books are highly recommended.
Hell Lake is trash and a waste of trees. Avoid it. The Jason Strain started out good butquickly went into stupid nonsense.
As a huge fan of Jason X I was very disappointed by the Jason X books. Only the books by Nancy Kilpatrick were okay. The others were trash, especially Death Moon. The novelization of Jason X was uninspired. They did nothing with the holodeck-sequence as if the author had no idea about the franchsise.

I got two of the Friday books, three of the Jason X books and some of the Nightmare ones. Have you read any of them?

Re: Friday the 13th Black Flame Novels.
You mean from the Black-flame ANOES books? Yes, I got them all: Dream Dealers, Perchance to Dream the omnibus "Ripped from a Dream" (which included Suffer the Children, Protege, and Dreamspawn). It has been a while since I have read them, but I remember that the ANOES books were quite good. I remember Dream Dealers and Suffer the Children to be excellent.
Black Flame also made novelizations of Freddy vs Jason and the Texas Chainsaw Remake, which I got as well.
I also got the F13th young adult novels by Eric Morse, the Novelizations for F13th Part 3 (both of them), Part 6, ANOES 1-5 &WCNN, some of the "Freddy´s tales of terror" young adult novels and the "Freddy Krueger´s Seven Sweetest Dreams" omnibus. I got the 3 Haloween young-adult novels by Kelly O*Rourke and the novelizations for Halloween 1-4 ( H4 as the special edition) and the recent Halloween movie. I got Novelizations for NOTLD, Dawn of the Dead as well as the "Return of the Dead" novel by John Russo (which is a sewuel to NOTLD).
I also got Hellraiser, Alien1-4 novelizations, Jaws 1,2 4, all of the MEG books and all of the Psycho books (Psycho 1,2 Psycho house and Psycho Asylum).

I wish they had them reprinted for sale because so many horror fans would buy the books almost instantly if given any chance.

I know I would and I’d love if they reprinted the movie novelizations for like Part 3 and 6.

I'm wondering if there is a way to email the company unless the company disbanded because I would totally have recommend them re-releasing all the novels.

Re: Friday the 13th Black Flame Novels.
I could see it. I mean even if they did, people could email the author or their family if they’ve passed on and ask if they could be reprinted. I know Peter David has talked about before how if you email authors sometimes they can let you know how to go and steer you in the right direction.

Maybe some correspondance with Black Flame might encourage them to come up with some NEW stories/novels...I have the entire collection minus the Jason X series

Re: Friday the 13th Black Flame Novels.
The sad thing is we may have to wait for awhile to get more Friday The 13th novels because of those lawsuits going on. If they are holding off on the toys then that may be what happens with any planned novels unfortunately.

Re: Friday the 13th Black Flame Novels.
I miss collecting the books. They were so much fun and it seemed like just as they got rolling, they were done being printed. Like I always say though, never say never. Properties like the ones that the books were written about have a way of becoming popular again and finding their way back out to the public. Look at Fangoria Magazine. The former editor in chief said there would never be another issue on newsstands but now it’s back as a quarterly publication. So never say never because these things have a way of being back and bigger and better than ever.
It wouldn’t surprise me if we do see another publisher snatch up the rights to Friday The 13th and go ballistic with them. Once the lawsuits are all over, believe me, they’ll go nuts with the novels being published as soon as possible.
