your Friday the 13th hostory
I don't recall my whole history. I was born in 88. I think my first real experience with Friday the 13th was in 1996 Scream when Drew Barrymore got the answer wrong on who the killer was in pt 1. I kew who Jason was of course and when I found out it was his mother, from Scream. I was shocked!
I think part 1 was the first I saw, but not the whole thing. i remember the opening part and some scenes in the woods but that's it. I was pretty young so I probably got scared lol
I recall pt 8 being on one late night and I tuned in to wen they had the flashback when Rennie's Uncle pushed her in the lake and young Jason grabbed her. I was confused lol
When I was a teenager, TNN had a marathon and I saw pt 2,3,4,5 and really got into it
Now that I remember, I actually saw pt 5 very young. The scene where Tommy looks in the mirror and sees Jason holding a machete
I have never fully seen JGTH. And no desire to
I secretly love pt 8
The modern remake was nice but I really wish it hhad been a continuation
It's intriguing that pt 3 was originally going to take place in a hospital with Ginny back. I think the series would ave played out so much differently
My 3 fav to watch is pt 6, 8 and 3. Just easy to lay back and watch em

I saw part 3 as my first movie in the theater with a friend wearing those silly 3D glasses. I liked the movie. Some time later, I saw the original and part 2 on TV. I didn't part 4 util later. I had to rent part 5 and 6 on video.
I saw part 7 in the theater. I was watching another movie when trailer for part 8 was shown, and everyone laughed at it. JGTH was another rental.
I was in college when Jason X came out, and I saw it in the local mall theater completely alone. I saw Freddy Vs. Jason on opening night and the theater was packed.

Re: your Friday the 13th hostory
First one I saw was on The New TNN. It was Part 3 even though it was supposed to be Part VI. They showed the wrong movie and kept the NOW PLAYING: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI: JASON LIVES title on the bottom of the screen the entire time. I didn’t mind though and Part 3 is one of my favorites. After that, I made sure to watch all the movies whenever they came on tv.
I taped Parts 2 and 3 off The New TNN and had them on video until my vcr broke. I wore that tape out. I saw the original on AMC Network when it was the 20th or 25th anniversary and it had the movie notes on the screen.
Part IV I saw on The New TNN as well. That is still my favorite in the franchise. Part V I rented from Blockbuster one summer and just had a blast. Part VI was on TNT one night after WCW Monday Nitro. Just a lot of fun and I remember the scene of him standing on top of the motor home.
Part VII I rented from Blockbuster and I was like not a bad movie.
Part VIII was never at Blockbuster so I purchased it from Suncoast and had fun with it.
Jason Goes To Hell I rented from Blockbuster and I was like it’s different but a fun watch. The FBI agent at the beginning I thought was hot and I bought the tape at Suncoast. I asked for the DVD for my birthday in 2003 or 2004 and got it.
Jason X was the first one I saw in the theatre with my friend Melanie and she still teases me about it to this day lol. She got it for me that Halloween on DVD. She also went with me to the 2009 reboot and we had fun then too. Love both those movies.
Freddy Vs Jason. I waited for thirteen years for this movie and I was the one man street team according to my friend Paul. I saw it twice the opening weekend and then two more times after that at the same theatre. So I made the most of seeing that movie.
Btw, I bought the original Friday The 13th movie from a second hand store called Bookmans here. It was the newer looking cover but I didn’t mind.
Good memories and also, I tuned in for the Joe Bob Briggs MonsterVision marathon back in 1998 but I don’t remember too much about it except he was ticked they didn’t have the rights to Part IV. I watch the segments on YouTube from time to time though.
I was too young to be able to watch the USA Up All Night specials so I watch those segments on YouTube as well. That’s a show I’d love for them to bring back.
I can remember the airings and marathons they did for The New TNN most and one Halloween, my grandmother watched the marathon with me. Great memory.
They were edited to heck on those marathons but it’s just fun to have watched them back then.
Who else has some good memories of history with this awesome franchise?

Re: your Friday the 13th hostory
First one I saw was Jason Lives. I was 5 years old.
We only had one tv so I had a habit of waking up in the middle of the night and flipping through the tv channels so I could have a turn watching. I remember coming across it right as lightning was striking the fence rod, and then the big explosion and the camera cut to Jason's eye snapping open. I was scared out of my mind but I couldn't turn it off. Sat there and watched the whole thing, then the next morning started begging my mom to rent it from the video store and that's when I found out there were more (they were up to Part 7 at that time).
35 years later and Part 6 is still my favorite.

Re: your Friday the 13th hostory
I was a legitimate child when I watched my first Friday the 13th film which was Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, my memory is good but I was about like...4 turning 5 years old (literal beginning of 2000s) when I first remembered seeing Kane coming out of the lake after Tina resurrected him, and I was legitimately scared, integrated, and curious all in one, the make-up by John Buechler was just A-Tier level of talent and thats when I got hook into wanting more and didn't know about the previous and after films.
I watched them all out of order, but thank god for AMC Fearfest, because they started to do the marathons for the series. (It was all Paramount Pictures era F13 films.)
2002 is when Jason X came out on the Sci-Fi channel, like a almost a whole year after it's release, I believe and trust me I was hooked haha.
Then you got 2003...when Freddy Vs Jason came out now as a young horror fan you could tell something was off haha, I didn't realize until I got order that my feeling was correct, Kane Hodder wasn't Jason in that despite being in the many others.
Overall my history is sadly not with the VHS or Theatre era like most but I love the franchise regardless!

Does it help to know VHS is obsolete? You missed an experience by not seeing them in theaters, if I'm not missing the point.
