The second Winnie the Pooh movie will be coming out soon. Bambi has a movie coming out next year, and I think there's even a Mickey Mouse movie planned?

What do YOU think of these kinds of movies?

There's actually already a Mickey movie called Mousetrap... I believe it's streaming on Peacock. I personally have no interest in it... Not even sure how they're getting away with it since it's the Steamboat Willie version of Micky that's in the Public Domain now... Mickey himself is trademarked and still somewhat protected since he's a company mascot and not just a creative IP.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of perverting child-friendly characters in this manner... The original creator of Winnie the Pooh wrote those stories from the perspective of his young son, who suffered greatly throughout his life, since it was public knowledge that he was the basis for the Christopher Robin from the stories... I feel weird supporting a movie like that for those reasons... Still, I also enjoy karma coming back around to bite Disney on the ass. They built an empire largely based around movies largely pulled from stories in the Public Domain, only to turn around and have copyright laws changed so they could hold on to their own IP's as long as possible. I am weirdly interested in the Steamboat Willie movie that's in development, though I couldn't tell you why.

Now I remember Mousetrap.

I don't especially like the idea of making movies based on these characters either. I saw the first Winnie the Pooh movie and didn't like it. It just didn't seem appropriate.

I don't like how Disney does business much myself. They didn't impress me with their Star Wars trilogy. Hopefully, they get theirs.
