The Settings
My thoughts regarding the setting of each movie
pt 1--Loved it. You truly felt you were in the woods at a camp. You could almost feel the mosquitos biting lol. I even loved the night time shots because they didn't use alot of lighting so you can feel yourself moving around trying to see more.
pt 2--Still very good. Felt more secluded in a away I think. Felt more at a party event on a college spring break though than getting ready for camp.Thought they did a great job for the chase, the car, the bush was used very nicely.
pt 3-Country setting. That's what I get. I feel like we are in a small town in the country for a little lazy weekend. Easy to kick back and just unwind watching this
pt 4-This feels so different from the first 3. It doesn't feel the same area. It feels, idk, just feels far away. I don't hate it though
pt 5-another country setting, dirty hot summertime. loved the storm at the end , felt like a great summer storm.great setting
pt 6-truly felt you were at a camp. loved the sherrifs office, felt like a actual downtown jail. love the fall feel to even if it was summer
pt 7- it was ok, kind of like pt 4, felt we were at a different place. didnt feel crystal lake. felt very fall too which i liked
pt 8-the boat gave a claustrophobic feeling which i liked, i liked te new york stuff even if it was in canada, dark scary, didnt know what was around the corner
pt 9--didnt like the setting. just didnt like
jason x--it was ok. i mean its a ship...what can you do?

I agree with your assessment here. JGTH was just so disconnected from ANYTHING it was ridiculous. And DON'T get me started about the plot.
Jason X was away from Crystal Lake (as if you didn't know) and the whole spaceship setting left you realizing there was no place to go. Just don't give Jason his machete back.
Part 4 leaves you wondering how big the lake is.
Part 7 and the remake are a bit different. i thought the cast was a bunch of college students.

I forgot about the remake. I didn't mind the setting, I thought it was pretty good

There's a Friday the 13th Franchise article about this I believe, it was honestly a huge tribute to Part 4 with specific shots which I liked.
Re: The Settings
I liked most of the settings. I would have to rewatch Jason X to decide whether the spaceship setting is OK too. The rest is fine, IMO. I didn't mind the boat either. I loved the summer feel of some of the movies.

That's understandable! Which F13 had the most summer feel for you? Part 6? I ask because people always have a different response.

Exactly, 4 and 5. I rewatched it at our family house this spring with an extremely nice weather outside and I wanted to teleport to Crystal Lake, felt so good.
