Fans have been worried about the naming scheme with "Jason Universe" and why it's not titled "Friday the 13th Universe" and this is not common knowledge about it but with Trademarks? companies can own specific obligations to aspects of a property.
Larry Zerner aka our Shelly himself has stated this and alot of people kept doubting him on Paramount owning the name when they infact don't.

So this is why they didn't name it "Friday the 13th Universe" because New Line Cinema holds the trademarks to the brand name.
