As before and with Bloody Disgusting also reporting on this situation about the Crystal Lake TV series and its rumored "cancellation" is turns out that Bloody Disgusting had a more closer source and that A24 is "Retooling" the series and this is Officially confirmed by Bryan Fuller himself on his Instagram.

When it works, as with HANNIBAL, the results can be powerful for the storytellers and the audience. I couldn't be more proud of the work my co-showrunner Jim Danger Gray and I were able to accomplish with our brilliant writing staff despite the challenges we faced.
For reasons beyond our control, A24 has elected to go a different way with the material. We hope the final product will be something Friday the 13th fans.

What does this mean?
I can't give any official confirmation on what this means but by Bryan's own words of A24 wanting to go a different way with the material could mean ALOT of different things and these are clearly speculations...
A.) A24 no longer wants to commit to a "Prequel" with Pamela Voorhees.
B.) A24 wants to "retool" the material into a more "Jason Voorhees" given route.
C.) A24 is wanting to continue the Prequel BUT with a twist of Jason from the present and him having flashbacks to him and his mothers time.
Now this could all be something different...we could get a different perspective like from a Point of View (POV) from Pamela or Jason, could also mean that wither Victor Miller or Sean Cunningham has revoked their "licensing" and we might get one without the other, could also be creative control as well, Bryan could want one thing and A24 wants it another, so with these types of situations? They are hard to foresee but it seems they are still going into development with this TV series with an undisclosed release date and likely this retooling could be from scratch as well so we might have to get another delay, and hopefully we dont!
