New Friday the 13th movie completely shut down

The reboot for the upcoming Friday the 13th series has been completely shut down and is not happening this year, or at least not at Paramount. Only less than six weeks to go before filming was to have began, the studio had pulled the plug on the entire movie, which was going to open in theaters worldwide on October 13, 2017. According to the reasons behind its cancellation, was because of the poor performance of Paramount’s new Rings movies stating its opening weekend wasn't just at low showings, But latered reached to $13,000,000 million during the weekend. Fearing over this failure the company quickly began second-guessing the new Reboot Friday the 13th, believing it would have chased the same audience, although others point out that the project is on the opposite spectrum of the horror scale and that its box office total was 83.1 million where other films reached much higher than this.

They also reported that this also put the upcoming World War Z 2 on a delay because of Rings as well making 2017 a complete bummer for Horror fans of both series.
